Kendrick Lamar’s Lineup for The Pop Out – Ken & Friends Concert Revealed

Kendrick Lamar’s Pop Out Lineup Confirmed

On Tuesday (June 18), DJ Hed shared the performers scheduled to appear at Kendrick’s upcoming The Pop Out show at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on Wednesday (June 19). Starting at 4 p.m. PST, DJ Hed & Friends will take the stage, followed by Mustard & Friends at 4:45 p.m. and Kendrick Lamar and his “friends” at 5:45 p.m.

It still remains unclear who makes up these different friend groups, but fans will find out soon. However, with Mustard in tow, it’s more then likely Kendrick will perform his “Not Like Us” diss track for the first time, which Mustard produced.

Amazon Music previously announced on June 7 that it would be streaming the Pop Out concert. The show is presented by pgLang and Free Lunch, and will be live streamed on Amazon Music’s Twitch and Prime Video channels.

Kendrick Lamar Announces The Pop Out — Ken & Friends Concert

“It’s two albums, I’m going crazy, I can’t wait till they drop,” Terrace explained. “Roddy Ricch album and whenever Kendrick drops his album, I’m gon’ be… I’m excited for those two. Those two Compton artists. So much s**t bubblin’.”

This presumably could mean that those in attendance at Kendrick’s Pop Out event might hear some new music from the rapper. Kendrick hasn’t released an album since Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers in 2022.

Kendrick Lamar and Drake can not stop releasing diss tracks

The cover art for Drake’s “Push Ups” features a shoebox tag displaying a size 7 (U.S.), which references a lyric in the song’s first verse. Drake pokes fun at Kendrick Lamar’s shoe size and height.

“You won’t ever take no chain off of us/How the f**k you big steppin’ with a size 7 men’s on?”

In Kendrick Lamar’s artwork for “Euphoria,” the Merriam-Webster online dictionary’s definition of “euphoria” is featured, leading many fans to speculate that it’s a nod to HBO’s popular drama of the same name. Drake serves as the executive producer of the series. The cover may also be a hint at K-Dot’s elation to clap back at Drake, who downplayed Kendrick’s willingness to engage on “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Drake said K-Dot sounded “less than enthused” in his disses.

The cover art for “6:16 in LA” features a black glove with the Maybach logo on it. A larger photograph of the glove is revealed in K-Dot’s Drake diss track cover art for “Meet the Grahams.” The glove, in addition to other items, were allegedly obtained from a bag stolen from Drake’s dad, Dennis Graham, according to DJ Akademiks. There is no confirmation that any bag was stolen or that these items belong to Drake. It’s worth noting that Rick Ross’ music label, Maybach Music Group, draws inspiration from the luxury vehicle brand. Additionally, Ross released a diss track, “Champagne Moments,” aimed at Drizzy.

Family Matters Sitcom Logo

Drake shared a short song on his Instagram page in which he continued his beef with Kendrick Lamar on May 3. Once he posted his official Kendrick Lamar diss track “Family Matters,” Drake published an Instagram post with another song. In the post, he used the font for Family Matters, ABC’s classic 1990 television sitcom of the same name.

The show centers around the Winslow family, an African-American middle-class family residing in Chicago. Interestingly, Kendrick was born and briefly raised in Chicago’s Robert Taylor Homes housing project before relocating to California as revealed on his DAMN. album track, “Duckworth.”

The additional track Drake dropped to go at K-Dot was set to the “Buried Alive” interlude from Drizzy’s 2018 Take Care album, which also featured Kendrick. The Boy created a parody of Kenny’s rapping and makes fun of how he sounds.

Kendrick Lamar’s “Meet the Grahams” Diss Track Cover

The cover art of Kendrick’s Drake diss track “Meet the Grahams” contains the larger photo of the artwork used in “6:16 in LA.” The artwork consists of a bulldog-embroidered dress shirt from the “Shortee Collection” by fashion brand Artic, along with the black Maybach gloves, jewelry receipts, a jeweler’s business card, prescription pills and a box of Ozempic with Drizzy’s name on it. Rumors surfaced that the items belonged to Drake and were stolen from the suitcase of his father, Dennis Graham. However, that information is not verified.

The “Meet the Grahams” cover art also contains a box of Ozempic pills, which is a diabetic medication and is often used to curb appetite. The bottle has a label with Drake’s real name, Aubrey Graham, on it. Whether or not the OVO Sound leader uses the weight loss drug is still unclear. During a text message exchange with his mother, Sandi Graham, in April, Drizzy revealed that Rick Ross takes Mounjaro, which is not the same medication as Ozempic, despite sharing some similarities.

Nadine Ghosn is a famous jeweler who launched her brand in 2016, and racked up an impressive list of superstar clients including Pharrell Williams, Lil Yachty and, most notably, Drake. Kendrick posted a business card and receipt from the company on the “Meet the Grahams” cover art. The 33-year-old entrepreneur custom-made a dog leash for Drizzy that was created using two kilos of 18-karat white gold and 50 carats of diamonds for his “First Person Shooter” music video. Ironically, the visual was the catalyst for the current lyrical war between Drake and Kendrick.

Popular Jewelry Receipts on “Meet the Grahams” Cover Art

The jewelry receipts on the “Meet the Grahams” cover art supposedly originated from Popular Jewelry Corp., a renowned global jewelry brand located in New York City, which is endorsed by many artists in the rap game. Fans have theorized that Drake went to Popular Jewelry to buy a replica of Kendrick Lamar’s fiancée’s engagement ring for his “Family Matters” video. Alternatively, the receipts could be linked to a line from Kendrick’s diss track “6:16 in LA,” on which he raps, “Find the jewels like Kash Doll, I just need you to think.”

A bottle of Zolpidem appears on the cover art for K-Dot’s “Meet the Grahams.” According to Drugs.com, Zolpidem is used in adults to treat insomnia. It’s unclear if Drake is having troubling sleeping. However, it might be connected to Kendrick’s diss track “Meet the Grahams.” Kenny dissects the 6 God’s character flaws, including his alleged vices of alcohol, gambling and drugs.

There are so many conspiracy theories surrounding the black Maybach gloves in question. Some social media sleuths have suggested that they are women’s Maybach gloves for horseback riding. Another fan-generated theory proposes that the gloves are commonly worn by chauffeurs. This would hint at the possibility that a leak within Drake’s camp may have come from his driver. So far, the conspiracy theories surrounding the gloves have been unsubstantiated.

Drake Spinning a G-Unit Diamond Chain in “Family Matters” Video

Drake’s “Family Matters” video opens with him spinning 50 Cent’s diamond-encrusted G-Unit chain while lyrics from the song flash on the screen. For days, it remained a mystery of how he came into possession of Fif’s treasured chain. However, famed jeweler Johnny Dang, a.k.a. “The King of Bling,” came forward and revealed that he created a replica of Fif’s classic G-Unit spinner chain for Drizzy’s visual. But don’t ask him whose side he’s on. In an Instagram post, Dang said he’s remaining neutral. “Don’t yall ask me what side I’m on…no beef. I supply the Grill only,” he wrote.

In Drake’s music video for “Family Matters,” a minivan, which closely resembles Kendrick’s mother’s vehicle on the cover art of his classic 2012 album, good kid, m.A.A.d City, gets crushed into a heap at a junkyard. Contrary to fans’ speculation, the mangled vehicle was not K-Dot’s childhood family van. A close friend of Dot clarified that the GKMC van was actually a Chrysler Town & Country. The whip Drake destroyed in the video was a Dodge Caravan.

When the beat transitions in the “Family Matters” video, the interior of a Black Mercedes Benz hearse is shown through the shot of a fisheye camera lens. The vehicle symbolizes Drake’s second verse on “Family Matters,” on which he obliterates and buries the competition in rap, hence, the luxury funeral car. On “You Broke My Heart,” from his 2023 For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition project, the 6 God asked, “Does Mercedes make a hearse?” They do.

New Ho King Restaurant in “Family Matters” Video

Toronto’s New Ho King Restaurant saw an uptick in business thanks to Kendrick Lamar mentioning the Chinese food eatery in his verse on “Euphoria.” “Talk about me and my family, crodie/Somebody gone bleed in your family, crodie/I be at New Ho King eating fried rice with a dip sauce and a blammy, crodie,” he raps.

Some fans believed Kenny’s remarks were a playful dig at the local food and Toronto slang, while others linked it to Drake’s 2009 robbery in T.O., in which jewelry was stolen from him. In a 2010 interview with GQ, Drizzy recalled an incident where he was robbed at gunpoint for a valuable chain that had been gifted to him by his Young Money boss and friend Lil Wayne. The thieves allegedly banged on the window and demanded the chain.

Drake also referenced the incident on his 2020 track, “From Florida With Love,” rapping, “Weezy played that s**t for me and Kobe on the bus/Went and got a chain for me, I had to give it up/ N***as had their pistols loaded pointed at my truck/And you know that lesson stuck.”

On “Family Matters,” Drake acknowledges he got robbed for his watch: “Can’t be rapping ’bout no ratting that we can’t read/I mean it’s true, a n***a slimеd me for my AP.”

A running theme in the beef has been Drake comparing himself to Michael Jackson ever since he tied the late, great singer for most Billboard Hot 100 songs last year, and Kendrick being rap’s representation of Prince. In the “Family Matters” video, Drake shows off multiple Mike Jack figurines and a glove that appears to be autographed by the King of Pop himself.

The “Family Matters” video features a man wearing Pharrell’s old jewelry. In 2022, Drake purchased Skateboard P’s Jacob & Co.-produced pieces at auction and later sported them in his “Jumbtron S**t Poppin” video. Drake later shaded P by saying he melted down the bling on Travis Scott’s “Meltdown” track last year. “I melt down the chains that I bought from yo’ boss,” Drake raps.

Kendrick took up for Pharrell on “Euphoria,” rapping, “I don’t like you poppin’ s**t at Pharrell, for him, I inherit the beef.”

On “Family Matters” Drizzy taunts K-Dot by showing he still has the bling. “You wanna take up for Pharrell?/Well come get his legacy out my house,” Drake raps.

Drake also prods Kendrick by showing off Tupac Shakur’s crown ring, which Drizzy purchased at auction for $1.1 million last year. The inclusion of Tupac Shakur’s crown ring in the “Family Matters” video comes after Kendrick fumed about Drake owning the piece of history on “Euphoria.” “Somebody had told me that you got a ring, on God, I’m ready to double the wage/I’d rather do that than let a Canadian nigga make Pac turn in his grave.”

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” cover art features a screenshot of the Google Maps location of Drake’s house, dubbed “The Embassy.” The red people icons on the Toronto rapper’s house are to mimic the sex offender locator icons. On “Not Like Us,” K-Dot insinuates that Drizzy and his OVO team are pedophiles. “Certified lover boy?/Certified pedophiles/Why ya trollin’ like a b***h?/Ain’t you tired?/Tryin’ to strike a chord and it’s probably A miiinnnooor,” he raps.

Drake’s swanky abode in Toronto is a lavish $100-million mansion that was designed by renowned architect Ferris Rafauli. The home boasts an impressive array of amenities, including an NBA-regulation-size indoor basketball court, a massive trophy room adorned with glass cases containing his prestigious music awards and a 3,200-square-foot master bedroom suite.

The cover art for Drake’s “The Heart Part 6” diss features a comment from Kendrick Lamar’s business partner Dave Free. The comment was left by Free under an Instagram photo posted by Kendrick’s fiancée, Whitney Alford. The photo, posted on Nov. 14, 2023, shows Whitney with her and Kendrick’s two kids. Dave Free’s comment contains a black heart and a heart hands emoji. On “Family Matters,” Drake insinuates one of Kendrick Lamar’s kids might actually belong to Dave Free.
