Justin Bieber is seen meeting his future wife and father-in-law for the first time in an adorable video clip.

The resurfaced footage shows a young Justin greeting now-wife Hailey and her father Stephen Baldwin for the very first time years before they would get married. The loved-up pair are now expecting their first baby together and regularly sharing bump updates with their fans, but Hailey wasn’t always so confident around her husband.

Their first meeting in 2009 was pretty awkward, with fan-girl Hailey blushing and mumbling her way through the encounter. It features the pair coming face to face backstage at the Today show. “This is my daughter Hailey,” he says of his shy little girl, who stands with her arms crossed throughout the meeting. Fans rushed to comment on the video, shared on X, as they excitedly viewed the special moment that sparked their future romance.

One wrote: “You never know when you’re going to meet, ‘the one,’ but usually you meet them at some point in your life before you meet them for life.” A second said: “Father in law was there already plotting their future ready to marry off baby girl.”

A third commented: “It is crazy how she used to be a fan and is now she is his wife and having his baby. The world works in mysterious ways people.” A fourth social media user posted: “Imagine meeting your wife/husband at 13. The innocence of it all is just too adorable.”

A fifth added: “I met Steve and his daughter at catering whilst on tour with Sean/Bieber – they were made for each other. Blessings to them both.” Justin and Hailey would eventually get married in September 2018 after dating on and off for several years from around 2014.

The couple announced they were expecting their first child together on Thursday, May 9. They posted a black and white video of them renewing their vowels in Hawaii, which then showed a pregnant Hailey. She was showing off her baby bump while wearing a laced white dress with a matching head scarf and Justin wore a fur jacket with a white shirt and an Atlanta Braves hat.

Since the announcement, the two have been spotted together several times and Hailey has posted several new pictures of her bump. The Rhode Skin founder posted a carousel of pictures on her Instagram with the caption: “The past few weeks have been.” The pictures showed the mom-to-be in different looks like denim overalls, a pink butterfly-style crop top and a white t-shirt, enjoying a getaway with Justin.
