PK Subban weighed in on McDavid’s performance, dismissing doubts about his greatness:
“I’m just sick and tired of people talking to me about McDavid and that he isn’t the greatest right now. Two minute and 20 second shift,” Subban said.
“This goal represents for all those hockey players that don’t want to do those extra training drills to get yourself in shape. This guy plays with a little deception,” he added.
PK Subban continued to lavish praise on McDavid’s impact on the game and unique playing style. He drew a striking comparison between McDavid and NBA legend Michael Jordan:
“Everybody, not one person in the building thinks he’s going to do this. Tic tac toe puts him in the ‘McBlender’ and the main ingredient in the ‘McBlender’.
“His guys reach it. A lot of guys reach it. McDavid’s teaching Stanley Cup Final. ‘You reach, I teach,’ Michael Jordan used to say it. Conor McDavid’s saying it now, and he’s doing it on the biggest stage.”
Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final is on Friday.
