Popular for portraying Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series, Emma Watson has turned out to be one of the most skilled and talented actresses. She has since appeared in several movies and has given incredible performances such as Belle, Meg March and so many more. However, the actress still finds it challenging to watch one of her most popular characters on screen. During an interview, the Little Women star shared that she had a hard time watching herself in the Harry Potter franchise as Hermione Granger.
Emma Watson Prefers Watching Initial Harry Potter Films
Emma Watson rose to fame portraying Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series. Making her acting debut at the age of 11 with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone she grew up along with her on-screen character Hermoine Granger. However, somehow she is not able to relate to the character.
While working on the two final films in the franchise, the Beauty and the Beast star shared that she only prefers watching the initial films in the franchise, as she looks quite different in them. She said, “Really, I find it easier to watch the earlier films.”
Watson claimed that she had “bushy hair, chipmunk face, big cheek” which she doesn’t consider a great look for her. She claimed that she finds it easier to watch those films because it was a long time ago and she doesn’t identify with the younger Hermoine Granger.
Emma Watson Does Not Like Watching Herself in Latter Harry Potter Sequels
During her interview, Emma Watson also shared that she is not fond of her character in the later Harry Potter sequels and it is much harder for her to watch those films. “However, the ones from one or two years ago – I find them much, much harder to watch,” she said.
The Regression star has also shared the things she found common and different between her and Hermione Granger. The actress has also shared that she once thought of leaving the film series. However, she has also expressed that it would be hard for her to imagine anyone else in the character.
During an interview, she said that she “would hate to have another actress” as Hermione Granger. However, she still did not want to give up on her as she also had a part in developing the character on screen. But at the same time, she was also worried that she would always be known as Hermione Granger only.
