Tragic reports have come out today that the daughter of legendary Canadian broadcaster Don Cherry has passed away. Cynthia Cherry was 67.

Cynthia was born on March 29, 1957, and grew up under the mentorship of the great Don Cherry, former NHL coach and famous Canadian broadcaster on Hockey Night in Canada. Cynthia unexpectedly passed away on July 15, 2024, at the Trillium Health Centre.

Don Cherry’s daughter has died

Don Cherry was once the head coach of the Boston Bruins and Colorado Rockies, though the majority of his time coaching was in Boston. Later in his life, Don took up the role of prominent broadcaster on Hockey Night in Canada, where fans of the game would tune in every weekend and see him on their television sets. His segment was known as Coach’s Corner, where he and his partner Ron McLean would speak during every intermission.

Don is sure going to miss his daughter Cindy, who leaves behind her son Del, and his father Roger. She was a loved daughter of not only Don, but of her mother, the late Rose. Those willing to show support can make a donation to Don Cherry’s Pet Rescue Foundation.

Our deepest condolences go out to Don and the rest of the family. Rest in peace Cindy.
