NBA fans gathered online to talk about the comments made by Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green about LeBron James. The Warriors star made a claim about his mindset each time he goes against James, but fans aren’t convinced.

Over the years, Green and James have played against each other at different intensities. They’ve matched up against each other in the NBA Finals multiple times, giving fans iconic games. However, the two stars are close friends off the court, and the same agency represents them.

In an article by ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk, Green was asked about his mindset this season, especially when playing against his former teammate, Klay Thompson. According to the four-time champion, he won’t treat Thompson differently than the Lakers star on the court.

“There’s always this public disdain over me and Bron’s brotherhood. I try to kill him [on the court] more than anybody. I take him out. And vice versa. That’s what it is,” Green said.

However, fans were unconvinced with what Green said and shared their thoughts on X (formerly Twitter).

“Stop lying to yourself. You bending over for Bron,” one fan said.

“We know that ain’t true especially when cameras caught you smiling after losing the series to him,” another fan brought up their 2023 playoff matchup.

“That is actual bs. He loves his glorious king,” a fan said.

Some supporters concurred with Green’s assessment and cited his track record as an unduly physical defender.

“We know, you always poking him in the eyes every matchup,” one fan said.

“He tries to kill anyone on the court respectfully,” another fan said.

“This mf be tryna take his eyes out 😂 that’s the only thing he do,” a fan said.

Draymond Green tried to hit James in 2016

Draymond Green appeared on Shaquille O’Neal’s “The Big Podcast” in May, where he recounted an altercation with LeBron James. It was brought up after Denver Nuggets’ Jamal Murray threw a heat pack onto the court during last season’s playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Green talked about playing against James in the 2016 Finals, where he intentionally hit the star forward in Game 4.

“I tried to hit LeBron and I got suspended for Game 5 of the finals. I tried to hit him. You step over me I’m a grown a** man. You don’t step over my shoulder,” Green said.

Green’s suspension for Game 5 helped the Cleveland Cavaliers stage a 3-1 comeback to win the championship.
