Ipswich Town finished 2024 on a high note, scoring their first home Premier League victory in 8,286 days. Goals by Liam Delap and Omari Hutchinson startled the fourth-place Blues, giving the devoted fans in the stands, including Sheeran, something to celebrate.

The four-time Grammy winner owns a minority ownership in the club and attends games regularly, but he had never had the opportunity to enjoy a Premier League home triumph until Ipswich defeated Chelsea in their penultimate match of the year.
Sheeran made news earlier this season for interrupting Ruben Amorim’s post-match interview as Ipswich held the Red Devils to a 1-1 draw. The outcome came barely two weeks after Ipswich won their first game of the season against Tottenham Hotspur.
Since that November night, Ipswich has only managed to gather three points once more in the following month, with a victory over Wolves. Their victory over Chelsea is only their third of the season after 19 Premier League games.
