Blackhawks forwards good play could earn him a chance to get out of Chicago
Despite a recent win over the Avalanche, the Chicago Blackhawks’ season seems set to land them at the bottom of the Central Division, even worse than the San Jose Sharks.
With their rebuild ongoing, they’re likely sellers at the upcoming NHL trade deadline.
Ryan Donato’s recent scoring burst has caught attention. Since October 22, he’s scored four goals and added an assist, bringing his season total to six points.
His shooting percentage has reached an impressive 38.5%, a level that may not hold up due to the minutes given to him, and Luke Richardson playing musical chairs with who they sit, but it’s still encouraging for a team needing scoring depth.
I was a fan of Ryan Donato at Harvard, in the Olympics, and in the NHL.
Super stoked to see him thriving right now with the #Blackhawks.
If he keeps up his strong play, Donato could become a great option for teams needing a physical forward with scoring ability.
Possible Suitors: Leafs, Bruins, and More
Contending teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins could be interested in adding Donato for extra scoring depth. Both teams are eager to improve their playoff chances and might be willing to trade a draft pick or a prospect for a reliable, physical forward, who has thrived in Chicago this season with little to no support around him.
If Donato stays consistent, Chicago could see solid offers coming in, giving them more assets for the future.
Donato’s performance could signal a bright spot for him to get on a contender, and a bonus for the Blackhawks to land draft capital.
