Former Toronto Maple Leafs star Jay Rosehill has encouraged Auston Matthews to amp up his physicality for the upcoming season.

Speaking on “Leafs Morning Take” alongside Nick Alberga, Rosehill praised Matthews’ goal-scoring prowess while also highlighting areas for improvement.

“Being a well-rounded player, I’d like to see him get a little bit physical, get a little bit chirpy out there, get a little bit cocky, tell the whole bench to fu** them like, you know what I mean? And just have that little swagger like, ‘oh, my God, this guy is controlling everything,'” Alberga said.

Auston Matthews had a record season with the Leafs last term, scoring 69 goals and 107 points in 81 games.
