Leafs’ forward Mitch Marner announced a new and unique sponsorship on his Instagram page Thursday afternoon.

After sending the Leafs to overtime in the final minute of Wednesday’s come from behind win against the Washington Capitals, Marner took advantage of the Leafs’ day off Thursday to announce a new sponsorship.

The sponsorship, Marner revealed, is with PSD Underwear. Marner joins a growing team of professional athletes and social media stars to endorse the brand, such as Hanna and Haley Cavinder, NFL players Aaron Jones, Deebo Samuel and Marshawn Lynch as well as NBA players Jimmy Butler, Trae Young, Ja Morant and Spencer Dinwiddie.

Marner also becomes the first NHL player to endorse the brand that was started by Curt and Ryan Flaitz and gained popularity when the Buffalo Bills receiver met them at a promotional event and the next game scored a touchdown, lifting his shirt to reveal the ‘PSD’ logo.

Marner is the second Leaf this week to announce a new business venture, as Max Domi announced the launch of a podcast which had its debut episode air Thursday.

Although Marner took a lot of heat this past off-season for his poor playoff performance, he has still been very thankful for being able to play for the Leafs and as he confirmed during training camp, he is in on-going negotiations on a new contract to remain with the team long-term.

For all the flack he received in the off-season, Marner has come out of the gate on fire, registering 5 goals and 22 points through 18 games for the Leafs so far, proving to fans and Leafs’ brass why he should get a significant raise from his current $10.9M yearly salary.
