The Chicago Blackhawks have an opportunity to sign another player who could help shift the culture change in the Windy City.

The Blackhawks could add some Stanley Cup-winning depth to their roster if they were to finalize their lineup by signing former Florida Panther, Nick Cousins.

He is known as one of the most hated players in the NHL. He is considered a pest and an agitator, and he starts fights, and doesn’t finish them. But even agitation is a trait needed on ice.

With the addition of Tyler Bertuzzi, Cousins could also add to the sandpaper in the lineup for the Blackhawks. Cousins could add snarl and depth scoring to the Blackhawks lineup.

Even then as his offensive production declined in 2023-2024, the 32-year-old center scored 15 points in 69 games.

If they do acquire Cousins, would it push Dickinson down to the 4th line, or Athanasiou out of the 2nd?

The Blackhawks could always use veterans to help shape the standard of the team and improve the lineup.

Cousin’s last contract, was a 2 year, $2.2 million dollar contract, including a $675K signing bonus, and an annual salary of $1.1 Million.
