It was another tough night for the Blackhawks and Connor Bedard as he showed anger and frustration on the bench during their 6-3 loss to the Vancouver Canucks.
Bedard failed to get on the scoreboard, and he was held pointless which also saw the team fall to a record of 2-3-1. The Blackhawks held the shot advantage at 34-30 and was the more disciplined team as the Canucks had more penalties. But the Blackhawks again made more mistakes as they had 19 turnovers compared to the Canucks who had 12.
This is the 3rd game out of four where Bedard has been held pointless and he was also a – 3 well still putting six shots on net. There were times during the game that he missed opportunities, and he also was yelling at the officials after some questionable officiating that did not fall in the Blackhawks favor.
Even though he’s only scored one goal, Bedard has been contributing with six assists which puts him at a point per game pace. But it’s clear from his reaction that he is a fierce competitor and that he enjoys scoring many goals as possible while helping the team emerge from the basement of the standings.
It appears the Blackhawks will be in for another long season even though general manager Kyle Davidson had made several changes to his roster by adding many veterans. But it’s more than likely that these players will be used at the trade deadline to acquire more prospects and draft picks as the Blackhawks continue to remain at the bottom of the NHL.
Team will have several days off and will wait for the Nashville Predators and Steven Stamkos to arrive. Game time will be on Friday October 25th at 8:30 PM eastern.
