If Aleksander Barkov ‘s son got his way, the Florida Panthers would have won the Stanley Cup way earlier.
After Barkov became the first-ever Finnish-born captain to win the Cup, he shared the moment with his young son on the ice.
As Barkov conducted an interview, the little guy started getting a little sleepy.
To his credit, he was awake for the whole game, a 2-1 thriller against the Edmonton Oilers in Game 7 at Amerant Bank Arena. But when the celebrating was ramping up, “Barky Jr.” was shutting down.
“He wants to go to sleep,” the Panthers captain said with a smile.
But hey, if you can’t stay up past your bedtime when your dad wins the Stanley Cup, when can you?
