Eminem is riding high on the U.K. charts this week thanks to his exciting new single. The rapper’s just-released “Houdini” blasts in at No. 1 on the ranking of the most-consumed tunes, bringing him back to the summit. As his latest cut succeeds, the hip-hop staple is also performing incredibly well on the albums ranking in the same country.
Two of Eminem’s earliest and most successful projects return to the U.K. albums chart this week. They join two of his titles that were already present, which rise from where they sat last time around, as apparently interest in all things related to the rapper is soaring.
Of the two returning wins from Eminem, the one that ranks the highest is The Eminem Show. That 2002 project reappears at No. 53. It is nearing 150 frames on the tally, which it could reach in the coming weeks, if its popularity holds.
Closer to the bottom of the U.K. albums chart comes another returning champion, The Marshall Mathers LP. That full-length helped catapult the man who shares a legal name with the title to superstardom. Now, the set is back at No. 95 on the ranking.
Both The Eminem Show and The Marshall Mathers LP have already hit No. 1 in the U.K., just a few years apart. The Marshall Mathers LP was released in 2000, closely following 1999’s The Slim Shady LP, which was an introduction to Eminem for millions of listeners all around the world.
This week, Eminem claims four spaces on the U.K. albums chart. In addition to his comebacks, two compilations from the rapper continue to not only find space on the competitive tally, but also to soar once again.
Curtain Call – The Hits returns to the top 10 on the list of the most popular albums in the U.K. This week, it leaps from No. 15 to No. 7. Its sequel, Curtain Call 2, bolts from No. 47 to No. 24 on the same list.
“Houdini” fronts Eminem’s forthcoming new album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). The title is expected at some point later this year, though for the moment, the Grammy winner is remaining mum about exactly when it might drop.
