The Vancouver Canucks’ three-game win streak ended with a 7-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. Connor McDavid led the way for the Oilers, scoring a goal and adding two assists. Despite their recent success, Vancouver’s poor performance led to strong reactions from fans.
After the game, Vancouver shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), and fans started reacting to it.
One fan expressed his opinion, saying:
“This ain’t the same team as last year playing like pylons up there they better be some big trades coming in😡👎🏽”
Another longtime fan expressed disappointment, saying:
“As a lifelong Canucks fan for 30 years, I am absolutely sick to my stomach. This team has ruined my life. They can’t beat a real hockey team. They are soft and scared on the ice. I’m taking my fandom to the Edmonton Oilers where they know how to run a mega cup winning dynasty.”
“I’m not saying it’s entirely on the refs with a 7-3 final, but them not calling anything for us didn’t help us at all, and then when they call what they did when the Oilers did the exact same stuff, it’s just brutal. If you’re going to be crap, at least be consistently crap,” one fan said.
Fans showed their frustration after the team’s poor performance. Here are some more reactions from fans on X.
“Now that was fun. Especially your building chanting “Let’s go Oilers!!” at the end lol😂 Revenge is sweet,” a fan said.
“That was too easy for Edmonton. Just needed the Canucks to get going offensively,” another fan said.
“Hopefully now all the idiots realize why Tocchet plays Bains over Aman,” one fan said.
Oilers dominate Canucks 7-3 with Connor Brown’s two goals
Connor Brown scored twice, while Leon Draisaitl and Brett Kulak each had a goal. Corey Perry and Victor Arvidsson also found the back of the net, and Mattias Janmark recorded three assists. In net, Stuart Skinner stopped 17 of 20 shots to help seal the win.
Vancouver, missing top scorer Brock Boeser due to injury, had a tough time keeping up with the Oilers.
Goaltender Kevin Lankinen made 20 saves before being replaced by Arturs Silovs, who stopped all four shots he faced. By then, the game was out of reach for the Canucks.
