A recent stat was published regarding Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid as on pace to having a career low in terms of points and other metrics.
The tweet revealed that McDavid is on pace for low goals for over 60 minutes which stands at 3.6 and the goals against over 60 minutes worth 2.97. That goal differential is one of his worst performances thus far since 2020-2021.
McDavid to be on track for a career low in points
Most Oilers fans feel that McDavid is having a great year as through 40 games, he has scored seventeen goals with 42 assists for 59 points and is a + 11 with 21 minutes and 52 seconds of average ice time.
It’s clear that his goals against and his plus minus have taken a dip as last season he was a + 35 and this year he is a + 11.
The Oilers are sitting at 57 points and 2nd in the Pacific division with a winning percentage of .663 and a goal differential of plus 23. Currently, the Oilers are also sitting comfortably in a playoff spot as the Vancouver Canucks are 48 points on the outside looking in compared to the Oilers.
Oilers Must Put Foot on the Gas
It’s important that McDavid along with the rest of the team continues to push the play then pile up as many points as possible as the season enters the dog days of January in February. The NHL will have a break in February as the Four Nations face off is set to begin.
