Radio host Robin Ayers has died. She was 44.
Ayers, who was a well-known entertainment reporter and radio host at KBLA 1580 Talk Radio, died on Thursday, Dec. 5.
“It is with profound sadness that KBLA Talk 1580 announces the passing of our beloved colleague Robin Ayers,” KBLA Radio host Tavis Smiley confirmed on behalf of Ayers’ family in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).
“Robin was a bright light. You could see her radiant smile through the radio. We all respected her immense talent, loved her jovial spirit,” he added.
Ayers joined KBLA Radio in March 2022, according to her LinkedIn page. There, she hosted the show The RA Report with Robin Ayers from Monday to Friday, covering entertainment news topics and interviewing celebrity guests.

Before joining the radio station, Ayers worked as a reporter and entertainment correspondent for the news outlet EURweb for three and a half years.
The outlet wrote in a statement on its website: “With heavy hearts, the entertainment journalism community mourns the passing of Robin Ayers. Robin, known for her vibrant personality and passion for storytelling, died leaving a significant void in the world of entertainment journalism and broadcasting.”
EURweb’s founder and publisher, Lee Bailey said, “I am deeply saddened by the passing of Robin Ayers. Her passion for storytelling and unwavering commitment to truth brought depth and authenticity to her work. She was not just a colleague but a friend, and her impact on EURweb and the lives she touched will never be forgotten.”
According to SpeakerHUB, per Sportskeeda, Ayers also appeared on the networks BET, OWN Network and Fox. She was also previously a contributor to the celebrity news outlet theJasmineBrand and co-hosted the podcast show Afterbuzz TV.

A cause of death for Ayers has not yet been revealed.
She is survived by her husband Rob and twin daughters Brooklyn and Madison.
KBLA is currently planning a memorial for Ayers, per EURWeb.

Basketball Wives star Laura Govan posted a tribute to her friend Ayers on her Instagram Stories. “One thing I’m NOT good with is Death! Especially when it’s near and dear I’m having a hard time with this one I LOVE U 😘I’ll Miss You Friend 💔,” she wrote, sharing a photo of the pair.
Comedian Jay Pharoah wrote in the comment section of Ayers’ last Instagram post, shared six days ago, “Heart broken, I pray to see you again one day in the kingdom my sister, Rest peacefully 🕊🕊.”
“Thank you for always being so sweet. What an example of true authentic. Rest Robin 💔,” Hollywood Unlocked host Jason Lee added.
