The Chicago Blackhawks were handed another loss this time from the hands of the Philadelphia Flyers and rookie sensation Matvei Michkov who dropped a jaw-dropping quote after the game was over.

With four minutes and 8 seconds left in overtime, the Flyers went to work in the Blackhawks zone and scored a power play goal from Michkov.

After the game, Michkov gave his quote that turned heads and raised some eyebrows.

The Blackhawks had hoped that they could build off their win against the reigning Stanley Cup champions the Florida Panthers.

If there is a moment, then you need to (finish) it in cold blood

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, and the Blackhawks only managed to squeeze out one point against this Eastern Conference basement dweller.

It’s been almost a month since Connor Bedard had scored a goal after he had scored one near the end of October against the Dallas Stars. In this game he had no points and continues to struggle to put the puck in the net.

The Blackhawks were badly outshot 37-21 and were in the penalty box more than the Flyers. Both Lukas Reichel and Pat Maroon were the goal scorers for the Blackhawks.

It’s safe to say that this season has not gone as well as general manager Kyle Davidson had hoped as he had made several changes to the lineup from their forward lines all the way down to their goaltending and it hasn’t panned out.

The Blackhawks were intending to move the needle and try to move up in the standings this year as they have been in the basement for the past couple of seasons due to their rebuilding phase.

The team has a long way to go and many changes to come as they attempt to become a playoff contending team which appears to be a long shot for years.
