The Charlotte Hornets endured a tough loss on Saturday night, falling to the Milwaukee Bucks 125-119. The defeat not only dropped the Hornets to a 6-10 record but also brought devastating news about their forward, Grant Williams.
Williams suffered a significant injury late in the fourth quarter while driving to the basket. After the game, he underwent an MRI, which revealed a torn ACL in his right knee. On Sunday, the Hornets confirmed the diagnosis, and NBA insider Chris Haynes reported that Williams may miss the remainder of the season.
“Charlotte Hornets forward Grant Williams suffered an ACL tear and is expected to miss the remainder of the season,” Haynes wrote in X.
The injury is a major setback for the Hornets. The team had high hopes for Williams after acquiring him in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks on February 8. Williams had been a consistent contributor for Charlotte this season, playing in all 16 games. He is averaging 10.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.

Grant Williams is staying positive despite the devastating injury that has sidelined him for the remainder of the season. After having gruesome injury update on his right knee, the Charlotte Hornets forward expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he’s received from fans.
“Appreciate all the love and support from those who have reached out. Time to go to work; it’s all we can do,” Williams said.
Williams has been a key contributor to the Hornets this season, but his basketball journey began with the Boston Celtics. He spent his first four seasons with Boston and two seasons with the Dallas Mavericks. Throughout his career, he has averaged 7.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
