The New York Mets are enjoying quite the season in the MLB in 2024, as they are currently in the National League Championship Series. Of course, every single player on that team will get their credit, including first baseman Pete Alonso.
The Mets have had a long and hard road to where they are. After taking on the Milwaukee Brewers in the first round, they had to face off against the Philadelphia Phillies. After obviously winning both series, they are now down 3-2 against the Dodgers after winning 12-6 on Friday.
Pete Alonso has been a solid player for the Mets. Through 40 at-bats, he’s had 10 hits, hitting four home runs on all of them, but he’s not going viral for his performance, as evidenced by one X post.
In a picture posted X, Alonso can be seen crouching, getting ready to catch a ball coming his way, and while crouching, let’s just say the quote of the post, “Meat Alonso,” says all it needs to say about the photo.

Pete ‘Meat’ Alonso Goes Insanely Viral After Getting Photographed During NLCS
After seeing the photo, one MLB fan was very confident with the Mets’ performance. “I’ve seen enough, Mets in 7,” said the X user. Another user simply called the tweet “insane,” which we can’t argue with.
Another MLB fan was joking that Alonso may enjoy the game too much. “He really enjoys this game,” the fan claimed, while another said that the person who posted the original tweet should just “log off.”
Alonso and the Mets are set to get back into action tomorrow in Los Angeles, where they could be eliminated from the playoffs. If one thing is for sure, Alonso will enjoy the MLB finals even more than the National League Championship Series if they make it.
