Harry Potter fans jumped for joy earlier this year when the exciting news was announced that the iconic wizarding franchise would be back in TV series form.
And Daniel Radcliffe has now finally broken his silence on whether he will be appearing in the new show.
In an article with ComicBook.com he explained: ‘My understanding is that they’re trying to very much start fresh, and I’m sure whoever is making them will want to make their own mark on it and probably not want to have to figure out how to get old Harry to cameo in this somewhere.’
Fans may have to let go of any hopes of seeing the trio of Harry, Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) reunite as Daniel, 33, confirmed he won’t be appearing.
He said: ‘I’m definitely not seeking it out in any way. But I do wish them, obviously, all the luck in the world, and I’m very excited to have that torch passed. But I don’t think it needs me to physically pass it.’

Expelliarmus: Daniel, now 33, appeared in the first Harry Potter film back in 2001 when he was just 12-years-old (pictured in 2007)
It was announced in April that a reboot series was in the works at Max, formerly HBO Max.
Each season of the show will be focused on a book from the franchise and will run over a decade long period.
JK Rowling has been given a role as executive producer on the show, alongside Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts.
David Heyman, who executive produced all the Harry Potter movies, is currently in talks to executive produce.
Daniel was just 12 years old when he starred in the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and his career was launched to immeasurable heights.
His role as The Boy Who Lived then spanned a decade of his life and him and co-stars Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) have spoken about how their childhood was encompassed by the films.
Since their time at Hogwarts ended the threesome have gone on to many other ventures, with Daniel appearing in horror story The Woman In Black, Now You See Me 2 and more recently The Lost City.
Emma, 33, has starred in the Disney remake of princess classic Beauty And The Beast as well as Little Women and is also known for her extensive women’s rights work.

The mind behind the magic: Despite being the successful author of the franchise, many fans have threatened to boycott the series after JK Rowling’s (pictured in March) trans comments
Rupert, 34, has starred in comedy series Sick Note and welcomed a daughter with Angus Thongs And Perfect Snogging actress Georgia Groome in 2020.
A release date is yet to be confirmed for the new project, but so far the series has caused controversy with fans vowing to boycott the show over JK Rowling’s views on trans debate and gender identity.
The author has endured a backlash from the public in recent years after she voiced concerns that dismissing biological sex in favour of focusing on gender identity would harm women’s rights.
While some are willing to put this aside for their love of the wizarding world, others fear the series won’t be the same again due to the controversy surrounding Rowling.
Calls have also been heard for Hermione Granger to be played by a black actress due to frequent debate about whether the know-it-all witch was black or white.
Many fans have called for a black actress to be cast, which led to further debate about how the S.P.E.W storyline will be handled – in which Hermione launches an antislavery campaign for house elves in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.
Discourse around a black Hermione first began in 2015, when it was announced that South African-British actress Noma Dumezweni would play Hermione in Harry Potter And The Cursed Child – a stage play released the following year.
Following outcry about the casting, JK stated that she had never specified Hermione’s race – and while it was shared that in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban she wrote ‘white face’ she insisted it was a reference to shock, not literal.
The eight Potter films grossed more than £6billion at the box office between 2001 and 2011 and the cast last reunited in 2022 for a special New Year’s Day episode.
