Caitlin Clark reveals offseason plans amid reports of huge offer to join Unrivaled basketball league.
Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark is fully committed to sharpening her skills during the offseason as she prepares for her second WNBA season next year. Since the Fever’s first-round exit from the playoffs, Clark has kept busy, engaging in various activities like playing golf, attending the Indiana Pacers’ Golden Gala fundraiser, watching a Pacers preseason game and even hitting the dance floor.
However, when it comes to her craft, Clark is laser-focused on putting in the hard work behind the scenes, determined to elevate her game in the gym. Amid reports that the 3×3 Unrivaled basketball league is eager to recruit her for its inaugural season, which tips off in January 2025, Clark spoke about her offseason plans and her commitment to continuous improvement.
“I feel like I’m just scratching the surface,” the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year said in a video shared on the Indiana Fever’s social media handle. “I feel like there’s just so many areas that I want to improve in, and to continue to get in the gym and work on that every single day.”
Clark’s remarks about her offseason plans came on the same day when a report from Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports revealed that the Unrivaled basketball league is preparing a substantial offer to entice the Fever star to join its ranks.
The report suggested that the Unrivaled league is prepared to present Clark with a deal comparable to the one Argentine soccer superstar Lionel Messi received upon joining the MLS.
Caitlin Clark sizzled in her rookie season
Caitlin Clark not only lived up to the hype but surpassed expectations in her rookie season in the world’s top women’s basketball league. She was named Rookie of the Year and earned an All-WNBA First Team selection after leading the Indiana Fever to their first playoff appearance in eight years.
After navigating the highs and lows of her debut season, Clark offered valuable advice to future WNBA prospects, sharing insights from her journey.
“Allow yourself some grace – you’ll learn, you’ll catch on, and you’ll get comfortable as time goes on,” Clark was quoted as saying by The Players’ Tribune. “Have fun; it goes by so fast, so you’ve got to soak it in.”
Clark appeared in all 42 games for the Fever during her rookie season, including their two playoff games. However, her postseason performance fell short of expectations, as the Fever were swept 2-0 by the Connecticut Sun.
