Jamie Foxx’s upcoming Netflix special has ignited discussions around his hospitalization in 2023, with rumors swirling about Diddy’s alleged involvement. We sift through various eyewitness accounts to uncover the truth.

Jamie Foxx‘s return to the spotlight has been anything but quiet, as allegations surrounding Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ involvement in Foxx’s 2023 hospitalization have resurfaced. The talk stems from Foxx’s forthcoming Netflix special, “What Had Happened Was,” which he filmed over three days in October 2024 in Atlanta. However, eyewitnesses provide conflicting accounts of what was actually said during the shows.

Videographer Choke No Joke, who attended two of the three tapings, claimed Foxx asserted that Diddy was responsible for his health scare. “Diddy was responsible for what happened to him, and [Foxx] is the one who called the FBI on [Combs],” Choke stated during a Comedy Hype YouTube video. Choke wasn’t sure if Foxx’s remarks were meant as a joke, suggesting viewers could judge for themselves when the special airs.

However, another attendee, Dennis L. A. White, offered a different perspective. White claimed that Foxx told the audience, “People keep asking me if Diddy was responsible. He was not responsible. If he was, I would’ve been dead.”

According to White, Foxx didn’t mention any law enforcement involvement but did spend a portion of his routine joking about Diddy, particularly involving “baby oil.”

Celebrity security guard Big Homie CC further fueled the rumors in a separate interview. “I know [Combs] poisoned Jamie Foxx, and Jamie Foxx reported him to the FBI because of it,” Homie alleged, although he admitted he had no concrete evidence to back up his claim. He, along with Choke, pointed out that Foxx seemed to reappear in the public eye soon after Diddy was imprisoned.

The most damning allegations against Diddy, however, come from legal indictments unrelated to Foxx’s case. The music mogul is facing charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and more. Federal agents reportedly found incriminating evidence during raids at Combs’ Los Angeles and Miami properties.

Despite the swirl of allegations and counterclaims, one fact remains clear; Foxx used his comeback special as an opportunity to address the rumors surrounding his illness. Whether his comments were serious or playful, Foxx took to Instagram post-taping to express gratitude, stating, “God is good. … I had an opportunity to tell my side of the story and there was no better place than Atlanta, Georgia.”

As both Foxx and Combs navigate their respective controversies, the public remains keenly interested. Diddy’s legal battles continue, with his trial set for May 2025, while Foxx remains grateful for his recovery, maintaining an active Instagram presence.
