The Duke of Sussex remains close with his cousin Princess Eugenie despite an ongoing feud with senior royals
Princess Eugenie is going against Prince William with her continued support for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to a royal commentator.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have purchased a property in Portugal, the same country Princess Eugenie lives in with her husband Jack Brooksbank.
The couple split their time between the UK and Portugal due to Jack’s job.
Meghan and Harry’s decision to purchase a property in the nation could be motivated by the couple wanting a European base after being evicted from Frogmore Cottage.

King Charles asked the Sussexes to vacate the royal residence following the publication of Harry’s autobiography Spare.
The controversial memoir contained attacks on several senior members of the Royal Family.
Prince Harry’s relationship with his brother Prince William deteriorated following the book’s release with royals no longer on speaking terms.
Royal commentator, Christopher Andersen claims Princess Eugenie has managed to maintain a positive relationship with her uncle King Charles despite her ties with the Sussexes.
Meghan and Harry’s decision to purchase a property in the nation could be motivated by the couple wanting a European base after being evicted from Frogmore Cottage.

Andersen said: “The number of people inside the Royal Family who are willing to proclaim their friendship for Harry and Meghan has dwindled to practically nothing.
“No one wants to run afoul of the King and Prince William – it’s that simple.
“Somehow Prince Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie, who has a home in Portugal, has been able to straddle the fence – to remain in the King’s good graces but also not turn her back on the Sussexes.
“Obviously, Harry and Meghan are very grateful for the loyalty Eugenie has shown.”
Princess Eugenie lives in Portugal with her husband Jack Brooksbank.

The royal author added: “Purchasing a villa in Portugal has more to do with being close to a Royal Family member who is still genuinely fond of them than it does with being geographically closer to Great Britain.
Princess Eugenie and Prince Harry have always had a close bond.
Eugenie was the first member of the Royal Family that was introduced to Meghan Markle by Prince Harry after they started dating.
Eugenie also featured in the Sussexes’ Netflix series titled Harry & Meghan which was released just one month before Spare in December 2022.
