Hip-hop icon Eminem has been announced as the surprise opening act at Kamala Harris’ upcoming rally tonight in Detroit, where he’s expected to bring on stage none other than former president Barack Obama.

As morning broke, supporters buzzed with excitement upon learning that Eminem is hitting the campaign trail with only a fortnight left until Election Day. Don’t expect Eminem to belt out his hits though; word has it he’ll be there solely to introduce Obama and speak his mind about the pivotal election.

With Michigan poised on a razor’s edge according to polls, pitting Harris against Donald Trump, it’s a strategic win for the Harris camp to have this influential Michigan native urge locals to lean left at the ballot box.

Not new to political endorsement, Eminem threw his weight behind the Biden-Harris ticket back in 2020 with a slick black-and-white commercial underscored by his anthem “Lose Yourself.”

Former President Obama, known for his fine-tuned music playlists, also digs Eminem’s sounds and famously pumped up to “Lose Yourself” during his 2008 campaign run.

The buzz hit fever pitch online, with fans and voters taking to social media to express their enthusiasm. Excitement peaks with comments like: “Will by tuning in to see Barry O and Eminem.”

Views rolled in swiftly, with one person noting: “Eminem hates Trump more than anyone, this makes sense,” while another chimed in saying, “That’s awesome! Glad to know he’s on the right side of history.”

Other voters expressed their dismay, with one commenting: “Ugh nooo eminem!! ” and another adding, “What a disgrace to humanity. Eminem too,” showing their disapproval.
Eminem’s schedule is quite full at the moment. Not only is he making this political cameo, but the rapper is preparing to become a grandfather. Eminem helped break the news that his daughter Hailie Jade and her husband Evan McClintock are expecting a baby in a music video for his song Temporary.

However, he couldn’t believe the news when she first told him he was going to become a grandpa. While filming the music video, Hailie surprised him with a photo of an ultrasound and a jersey that said “grandpa.”

Speaking on her Just A Little Shady podcast, Hailie recalled: “He was like, ‘Are you trying to call me old?”
