Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow shocked the NFL earlier this week by revealing a brand new haircut.
After sporting a brown wavy hairstyle, Joe Burrow decided to get a buzzcut and die his hair blonde. His new hair comparisons to the likes of legendary rapper Eminem and WWE superstar Cody Rhodes.
When asked about his decision to get a bleached blonde buzzcut, Burrow delivered a hysterical three-word answer, per NFL Network’s Bridget Condon.
“I got bored,” Burrow said.
The 27-year-old Burrow is returning from a wrist injury that he suffered in a Thursday night game against the Baltimore Ravens. Burrow’s injury required season-ending wrist surgery, and the Bengals limped to a 9-8 finish without their star signal-caller.
Making matters cooler, on Joe Burrow’s new haircut? Cody Rhodes himself learned of the news and told Burrow on X/Twitter that it’s, “Time to finish your story this season” with an emoji of a trophy.
“Finish the story” was a popular phrase for Rhodes during his run to WrestleMania 40, where he defeated Roman Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. With the victory, Rhodes became the first WWE superstar in over four years to defeat Reigns cleanly in a singles match.
Rhodes finished his story on the Grandest Stage of Them All. We’ll soon find out if Burrow can “finish” his by leading the Bengals to their first Super Bowl championship.
Bengals Will Contend With A Healthy Joe Burrow
As long as Joe Burrow is healthy, the Cincinnati Bengals will have every chance to win a Super Bowl championship. In his two healthy seasons, they’ve played in one Super Bowl and two AFC Championship Games.
The Bengals are 29-22-1 in games started by Burrow, who has a career 68.0 completion percentage for 14,083 yards and 97 touchdowns against 37 interceptions. Burrow is also 5-2 in the postseason, including road wins against Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs and Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills.
If he can stay healthy in 2024, the Bengals will return to contention following a wasted 2023 season.
