In a surprising turn of events, the Canadian rap star shows love to the Germany-born emcee and his song ‘Port Antonio’, on which he comes clean about the reason why he ducked out of the war.

Drake has had a rather surprising response to J. Cole‘s new song “Port Antonio”, which references the “Big Three” war. The Canadian superstar has shown his love to the Germany-born artist after the latter comes clean about the reason why he pulled out of the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud on the newly-released track.

J. Cole dropped the song on late Wednesday, October 8. On it, he calls out Drake by name as he makes it clear that he’s not picking sides. Surprisingly, Drizzy appears to respect J. Cole’s take on the situation as he liked J. Cole’s Instagram post that initially uploaded the song.

On “Port Antonio”, J. Cole states that he doesn’t dislike the “Hotline Bling” hitmaker and acknowledges how much help Drake has given in his career. “They say I’m picking sides, don’t you lie on me, my n***a,” J. Cole spits. “The start of another war, hey Drake, you’ll always be my n***a. I ain’t ashamed to say you did a lot for me, my n***a.”

In another part, he explains his decision to duck out the war. “I pulled the plug because I seen where that was about to go, they wanted blood, they wanted clicks to make they pockets grow,” he rhymes. “I wouldn’t have lost the battle, dog, I would’ve lost a bro, I would’ve gained a foe, and all for what?”

J. Cole proceeds to criticize Drake and Kendrick for digging up dirt on each other. “Jermaine is no king, if that means I gotta dig up dirt and pay the whole team of algorithm bot n***as just to sway the whole thing on social media, competing for ya favorable memes,” he raps.

After Kendrick dissed Drake and J. Cole on “Like That”, J. Cole initially hit back with a song titled “7 Minute Drill”. He, however, later regretted the decision, admitting that he felt “lame” and “terrible” for dissing K. Dot. The track was eventually pulled streaming platforms. He was later criticized for his confusing stance on the Drake and Kendrick beef.
