Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is evidently not thrilled with the team’s upcoming preseason road trip.
The Lakers face off with the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night, and James sounded less than enthused with having to make the trek to the Midwest:
The Bucks later took to social media to respond to James’ post:
In a reply to former teammate, James made it clear he’s going to Milwaukee grudgingly:
The 20-time All-Star is unlikely to get a ton of sympathy from fans given the luxurious accommodations he and his teammates will have as they’re flying.
The Lakers have plenty of time to recover from their travels as well. After Thursday, their next preseason game isn’t until Oct. 15 in a home matchup with the Golden State Warriors.
For the most part, the NBA preseason is about the stars playing themselves back into game shape and coaches discovering which reserves will fill out their bench. Los Angeles’ six games carry a little more importance since head coach JJ Redick is in his first season in the role.
While Redick already has a good idea of his two-deep rotation, this is a time for him to experiment a bit in a low-stakes atmosphere in addition to getting players used to his offensive scheme.
In the case of James, there isn’t much for him to gain from the preseason at this point in his career.
Redick might prefer if his biggest star weren’t so openly blasé, though.
