Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are embracing a “new normal” in their romance, according to a royal expert.
Fans are used to seeing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on joint public appearances, but they’ve recently changed things up by going solo to a number of events. Harry traveled to the UK alone for the WellChild awards, while Meghan was seen posing up a storm on the red carpet at LA’s children’s hospital gala.
Royal author Phil Dampier noted that Meghan seemed very “relaxed” at the gala and suggested both she and Harry are comfortable going their separate ways when it comes to work.
Dampier said “Now we’ve seen Meghan on her own as well, just to sort of reinforce the fact that to some extent they seem to be leading separate lives – certainly on the sort of work front.” He added that Meghan looked “stunning” on the red carpet.

Speaking to The Sun, Dampier added: “She looked very relaxed. She looked very sort of happy. She was laughing and joking with the kids at this event at a Children’s hospital gala.
“Clearly they’ve decided that at the moment it’s better for them to go their separate ways in terms of their work commitments and their charity commitments.” Harry and Meghan have also completed a number of joint appearances, with the couple recently returning from their tour of Colombia.
While Meghan stayed at home in America, Harry recently traveled to London, New York and Lesotho. The Duke of Sussex visited South Africa for his Sentebale charity which he co-founded in 2006 with Prince Seeiso.
The charity was first created to help young people dealing with HIV/AIDS. Sentebale has now grown to support the youth as they experience numerous challenges involving health, inequality and climate change.
