House Oversight Committee Holds Hearing Examining Female Athletics And Title IX

Riley Gaines recently showcased her respect for Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling for taking a bold stand for women’s sports.

The Harry Potter author shared a screenshot of the tweet of ‘The Pissed Off Lawyer’, which contained thoughts about transgenders deserve to be happy.

In the screenshot, the page took a dig at TERFs, who are against transgender people, and said that women identification is solely based on their organs.

“TERFs think that they own the definition of what a woman is. They want to reduce all women to solely their reproductive organs. Taking women back in time, not forward.”

To this, JK Rowling tweeted saying that women are not reduced to just organs. Women’s pretending to be of a different sex is not liberation.

“I don’t reduce myself to my womb when I say I’m a woman any more than I reduce myself to my ears when I say I’m not deaf. These are facts. There is no liberation for women in pretending their sex class isn’t definable. If men can be women, there is no such thing as woman.”

Riley Gaines lauded Rowling by re-posting her tweet on X.

“J.K. Rowling doesn’t missđŸ”„” said the 23-year-old.

Riley Gaines lauds middle school girls for forfeiting middle school tournament

Recently, a few middle school girls stepped out from shot put and discus throw events at the Harrison County Middle School Championships. This step was initiated because of the inclusion of transgender athlete in their team.

A 13-year-old transgender athlete, Becky Pepper-Jackson began transitioning in third grade and was included in the women’s sports team. The United States Circuit Court of Appeals stated that the West Virginia law that had banned biological boys from competing in women’s teams did not apply to this individual.

Riley Gaines stood in support of these girls and shared a video of one of them delivering a speech about the incident at the event. In her speech, Gaines expressed how brave the girls are to take such a strong step.

“One of the five middle schoolers who refused to compete against a boy in women’s shot put gave remarks at a press conference in WV today. She specifically called out the ACLU and their disregard for women. These five girls are heroes.”

Riley Gaines also expressed her disappointment regarding this incident. She shared a post on her X account stating,

“It’s a sad day when 13-14yr old girls have to be the adults in the room, but I couldn’t be more inspired by and proud of these girls. Enough is enough. The tide is turning!”
