The Death of Slim Shady sold 24,000 copies throughout the past tracking period in America. That sum is up more than 3,300% from the frame prior—before the Expanded Mourner’s Edition was made available.

The addition of those four tunes played a huge role in that massive increase in sales, but there were other reasons why fans revisited the set. The Death of Slim Shady was also recently made available on CD, which shipped out to consumers who had purchased the title. Those plastic discs are also partially responsible for the gains.

The set gains by 180% when looking at total consumption. Those numbers show that The Death of Slim Shady was still being listened to by millions of Americans, but that sales had largely fallen away. That’s not unusual for any project from a superstar in today’s music economy—streams keep hits and full-lengths afloat, while pure purchases front-load a title’s success, and then drop off precipitously.

All those sales—as well as an uptick in streaming activity—help The Death of Slim Shady jump back up the charts. This week, the album improves from No. 42 to No. 7 on the Billboard 200.

Billboard reports that the number of streaming equivalent album units The Death of Slim Shady shifted are up 43% from one week to the next. Purchases of individual tracks from the set—likely the new additions—helped spur a 210% increase in how many track equivalent album units The Death of Slim Shady manages this frame as well.
