Podcaster takes aim at NBA star Steph Curry for endorsing Kamala Harris in US Presidential race (Image credit: Imagn)
Four-time NBA champion Steph Curry recently endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for US president. After endorsing Harris during the Democratic National Convention, Curry again endorsed Harris despite the almost-certainty that issuing an endorsement would result in backlash.
On Saturday morning, NBA podcaster TJ Moe, who co-hosts the “Fearless” podcast alongside former ESPN personality Jason Whitlock, took aim at Curry. Moe stated that Curry “is not a Christian.”
While Curry has long been open about his faith, and has spoken about how religion and Christianity play a role in his life, Moe doesn’t believe Curry’s words. Moe explained that because Harris is pro-choice, Curry’s support of her candidacy means that he isn’t Christian.
He took aim at Curry:

“Steph Curry is not a Christian, and everybody should stop pretending so and we should stop talking about him like he is a Christian. He didn’t come out and say, ‘Hey, look, tax policy is a big deal to me. And, you know, the Bible is not that clear on it, but I’m a Christian. And so I think we should have higher taxes,’ and we could sit and argue about taxes.
“What he came out and defended, … ‘What policies do you care about?’ [And he said] ‘Abortion,’ So it’s the only thing he could come up with.”
Steph Curry explains why he endorsed Kamala Harris for US presidential race
On Thursday during the 2024 Curry Cup golf tournament, the 2024 Paris Olympics gold medalist caught up with Bloomberg TV, where he spoke about his reasons for endorsing Harris.
During the interview, Curry was asked about his decision to endorse Harris, with the interviewer referencing famous comments made by Michael Jordan back in 1990. At the time, Jordan was on the receiving end of criticism after opting to stay silent during a hotly contested US Senate race in North Carolina.
As he stated, he didn’t want to pick a political side for three reasons. One, he didn’t know Harvey Gantt, the candidate his mom wanted him to endorse. Two, although Jordan explained he looked up to Muhammad Ali, he never saw himself as an activist. Three, as Jordan infamously stated, “Republicans buy sneakers too.”
When the Bloomberg TV interviewer referenced the quote after Steph Curry endorsed Kamala Harris, he explained his reasons for the endorsement.
“First it was a conviction of, you know, what you believe being active in and actually publicly endorsing her being that we’ve been a part of the DNC back in 2020 as well. I’ve approached everything with decency and humanity, it’s not like I’m out here casting flames at the other side. This is what I believe.”
