The 2024 U.S. Open Tennis Championship is down to its homestretch, and among those spotted catching the action were NBA legends, including Dwyane Wade, a three-time NBA champion with the Miami Heat.
‘D-Wade’ was spotted at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, New York, enjoying the action in the marquee tennis event. He was joined by other NBA legends, namely, fellow Basketball Hall-of-Famer Tracy McGrady and Michigan ‘Fab Five’ members Jalen Rose and Juwan Howard.
The four were seen having a laugh together in photos shared by Yahoo Sports! on its X page:

Dwyane Wade retired in 2018, winning three NBA titles with the Heat (2006, 2012, and 2013), and was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2023.
McGrady, meanwhile, was a seven-time NBA All-Star and one of the most explosive scorers in NBA history. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2017 in celebration of his 15-year NBA career coming out of high school.
Howard, for his part, was a one-time NBA All-Star who won NBA titles with Wade in Miami in 2012 and 2013. He is now part of the coaching staff of the Brooklyn Nets.
His collegiate teammate, Rose, is now a sports analyst after playing 13 seasons in the NBA, with stops in Denver, Indiana, Chicago, Toronto, New York, and Phoenix. He won the Most Improved Player award in 2000 while with the Pacers.
Meanwhile, Wednesday’s action marked the 10th day of the U.S. Open this year, which will run until Sept. 9.
Dwyane Wade thrilled to have called Team USA’s games at Paris Olympics
Dwyane Wade is no longer actively playing competitively since retiring from the NBA in 2018 but he is happy to still be part of the game in other capacities. He was recently part of the TV team that covered Team USA’s games at the Paris Olympic Games.
The 13-time NBA All-Star was an on-air analyst for NBC for men’s basketball in the Paris Games, where he got to share his knowledge built around a highly successful 16-year NBA career, which was punctuated with three league titles.
In an interview with USA Today, Dwyane Wade spoke about landing the TV commentator gig ahead of the Olympics, saying:
“It is a challenge for me. I am in a space where I am always in these certain challenges. You want to make sure that any door you want to walk through, if you put the work in, it will open for you.”
Dwyane Wade played in two Olympic Games, winning gold in 2008 (Beijing) and bronze in 2004 (Athens). He is now a basketball executive for the NBA’s Utah Jazz and WNBA’s Chicago Sky.
