Writer JK Rowling once again faces being boycotted due to discriminatory statements against transgender people.
Immediately after information about the Harry Potter TV movie project was posted, many viewers called for a boycott of this product. The reason is because this continues to be a product with the participation of author JK Rowling. Although she is a famous writer, she is a controversial person when she has ideas against transgender people.
Despite facing a new wave of boycotts, JK Rowling didn’t seem to care at all, she even joked that she would… throw a party to celebrate.
“This is terrible news that I feel the need to share, that many activists are trying to organize a new wave of boycotts against my works. This time, they are demanding a boycott of the television series Harry Potter picture”, JK Rowling posted on social networks, “As predicted, I have prepared a large amount of champagne (to celebrate)”.
In recent years, JK Rowling has become a scandalous name and has been turned away by audiences. In addition to her statements of discrimination against transgender people, JK Rowling also made fans tired when she was accused of “exhausting” Harry Potter content for profit. Converting the book into a series is said to be the writer’s next move to continue bringing in income for himself instead of creating new works.
