Team Canada had a pre-tournament exhibition game in Budapest, Hungary today as Connor Bedard joined former Blackhawk Brandon Hagel on his new team for the IIHF competition.
Bedard will be joined by Bowen Byram, Jordan Binnington, Colton Parayko, Owen Power, and Andrew Mangiapane on Team Canada as well.
Team Canada would blank Hungary, in a pre-tournament World Championship game, 4-0.
Connor Bedard would help push the team to victory, as he added two assists, along with Andrew Mangiapane adding two assists as well.
Team Canada was on fire today, as they forced Hungary to rely upon a backup to stop the dumpster fire of a performance, Dominik Horvath saved 36 of 38 shots in relief, and Bence Belizs was ousted as he saved 26 of 28 shots.
Team Canada outshot Hungary, 66-21 and this is just pre-tournament!
It would help if you got excited as the IIHF World Hockey Championships will be starting soon on May 10th.
Team Canada’s 1st match in Czechia will be against Great Britain on May 11th.
Jordan Binnington made 21 saves and Dylan Guenther had a goal and an assist as Canada beat Hungary 4-0 Tuesday in a pre-tournament game before the world men’s hockey championship.
Colton Parayko, Bowen Byram and Owen Power also scored for the defending world champions, who outshot the hosts 66-21.
Connor Bedard and Andrew Mangiapane added two assists each.
Hungary goaltender Bence Balizs made 26 saves on 28 shots before being replaced halfway through the game by Dominik Horvath.
Horvath stopped 36 of 38 shots in relief.
