The Dallas Stars head coach, Pete Deboer, remained tight lipped when asked about his star defenseman, who never gets enough credit for his play, and that’s Chris Tanev.

Chris Tanev is well known as one of the best shot blockers in the entire NHL and was a sought after free agent this off-season.

On May 29th during game four between the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers, Tanev blocked a shot on his foot and left the game; he did not return.

Many Stars supporters remained hopeful their defensemen that shuts down Connor McDavid and the Red Hot Edmonton Oilers offence, would be okay-but it seems as if the worst confirmed.

The head coach said he will undergo x-rays and scans to reveal if it’s a broken foot or not, but no matter what, being seen in a walking boot is not a good look.

This confirms that it’s over for Chris Tanev, and their #1 defensemen that was matched and shutdown Connor McDavid, as well as Leon Draisaitl.
