MMA star Conor McGregor has been found guilty of raping Nikita Hand by a jury. The Irish fighter, however, maintains his innocence and plans to appeal the court’s decision, as he announced on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
“Six years ago, I should have never responded to her outreaches. I should have shut the party down. I should never have stepped out on the woman I love the most in the world. That’s all on me,” McGregor wrote.
Notably, in the past five years, at least four other women have accused McGregor of rape. However, these cases were dismissed by prosecutors and police.
Nikita Hand accused McGregor of physical and sexual assault during a Christmas party at a Dublin hotel penthouse in 2018. Last Friday, a jury found McGregor guilty. As part of the ruling, McGregor has been ordered to pay Hand £210,000 in damages.
