During game five of the Stanley Cup finals, Mark Lazearus of The Athletic posted a comment on how Corey Perry reacted when he scored his goal that was completely set up by Connor McDavid.

The play took place in the second period at 11 minutes and 54 seconds when Connor McDavid barrelled through the Panthers defence completely on his own and found the perfect space for Corey Perry to bury the puck.

Shortly after, Perry skated away from McDavid and celebrated with his other teammates. It’s safe to say those heroics by McDavid would not have made that goal possible.

Perry has had a rough playoff as this is his first goal in this postseason. The 39-year-old forward has played seventeen playoff games this year and has only registered one goal with two assists for three points and is a – 3.

Head coach Kris Knoblauch has looked to his leadership as he has played on five NHL organisations who all have made the Stanley Cup finals. Perry won the cup with Ryan Getzlaf in Anaheim back in 2007.

The series now switches back to Edmonton where the Oilers look to do the same playbook and the same game and tried to take Game 6 by tying Up the series and forcing the Game 7.
