Ed Sheeran Surprises Jess on Her 20th Birthday
In a heartwarming gesture, Ed Sheeran took a break from his New Zealand tour to surprise Jess on her 20th birthday, visiting her in her hospital room in Auckland. Jess had been eagerly anticipating his concert, having bought tickets weeks prior, but her excitement turned to disappointment when she was diagnosed with leukemia just two weeks later and had to undergo chemotherapy.
New Zealand’s 1 News captured the emotional moment when Ed arrived. Jess shared her feelings, saying, “I had butterflies—lots of butterflies! But he was just a genuinely nice guy, so down to earth.” The surprise was made possible thanks to a social media campaign launched by Jess’s friends, who rallied to get Ed to visit her. Their efforts paid off spectacularly.
During the visit, Ed spent about 30 minutes with Jess and her friends, taking selfies and sharing stories. Jess’s parents expressed their gratitude, remarking, “Nothing could be better than this. It’s so sweet that Ed would take time out of his touring to visit Jess.” They felt that this special moment would be hard to top in the coming years.
