Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese was spotted with NBA star Kevin Durant in July, and she finally addressed any dating rumors in the first episode of her new podcast

Angel Reese has dominated the boards in the WNBA across her rookie seasonChicago Sky star Angel Reese has shut down speculation romantically linking the WNBA rookie to NBA All-Star Kevin Durant.

Last month, rumors began to spread regarding a potential relationship with Durant after the pair sat courtside together during the Team USA women’s basketball exhibition match versus Germany. However, the former LSU star cleared up any talk on her new podcast “Unapologetically Angel” as she outlined Durant had actually attended the game with Golden State Warriors icon Steph Curry, while Reese went with a friend.

“That was never a thing,” Reese said. “I don’t even know how that even became a thing because I sat next to somebody. My friend was sitting next to Steph [Curry]. I don’t even get that. I don’t even know where that came from.”

Reese, who was spotted back in June alongside Chicago rapper G Herbo in his Tesla Cybertruck in more rumors, insisted the two basketball superstars were just enjoying the game and happened to be sitting next to each other. Given both Reese and Durant are from Washington metropolitan area, the 22-year-old made a point out of explaining she’s a huge fan of the Phoenix Suns star.

“KD has been my favorite player since I was a kid and is still my favorite player,” Reese added. “He’s from the DMV, I love his mom, she comes out and supports the game.”

Reese’s podcast is a new project as she takes advantage of her elevated profile. Her show is on NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal’s “The Big Podcast Network”, which is a part of Playmaker HQ, making Reese the latest high-profile name to join O’Neal’s network in addition to the likes of Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart’s “The Roommates Show” as well as “The OGs” with Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller.

Reese has enjoyed a tremendous season with the Sky, helping the franchise stay in the playoff race while she has effectively transitioned to the league from college basketball. Reese is averaging a double-double, putting up 13.3 points and 13.2 rebounds per game this season.

Remarkably, Reese has tallied the most rookie double-doubles in WNBA history while she has also set a new single-season record for rebounds. She also recently became the first player in WNBA history to grab 20 rebounds in three successive games.

With 11 games remaining, the 11-22 Sky sit 8th in the standings – which is good enough for the final playoff spot. The Sky face the Los Angeles Sparks in their next contest on Friday, Sept. 6.
