Edmonton Oilers winger Evander Kane released his first wine, Dovetail Cabernet Sauvignon, a Cabernet Sauvignon created with a partnership with City & Country Urban Winery based in Calgary.

The wine draws inspiration from the precise craft of a Japanese dovetail joint, cut to perfection, striving for perfection and meeting exacting standards. Kane announced on his X/Twitter handle:

“Very excited to announce my first wine, Dovetail, with @citycountrywine. Bold, balanced, and approachable, Dovetail Cabernet Sauvignon is the perfect pour. Visit the link in my bio.”

The 2021 Californian Cabernet is a distinctive blend that exudes boldness and balance, showcasing a harmonious fusion of flavors sourced from a sustainable winery in the Lodi region.

This first wine from Evander Kane features a fruit-forward and complex profile, with a vibrant, confident expression of the sweet spices, caramel, berries, black cherry, vanilla, black olive, milk chocolate and plum on the plate.

The finish lingers with deep fruit and some vanilla undertones, while an intense ruby-red color, full body, medium acidity and a rich, luxurious feel in the mouth complete the wine experience.

It won’t be a surprise if Kane’s wine makes its way into Connor McDavid’s and Lauren Kyle’s wedding, set to take place on July 27. The wine is available for sale on the Dovetail website for $89.99. The link is in Kane’s bio.
