Earlier this year, Bronny James was spotted spending time with fellow 20-year-old Parker Whitfield at the 2024 Paris Olympics. They were later confirmed to be an item, which means Bronny is now in the orbit of three-time Emmy nominee Dondre Whitfield — who just happens to be Parker’s dad.

Just days ago, the father of Bronny’s girlfriend couldn’t help but weigh in on surprising comments made by former NFL quarterback Cam Newton on his “Funky Friday” podcast.

“I never went to a strip club for women,” said Newton in front of two female guests. “I always went to strip clubs for guys.”

Apparently, Newton’s guests weren’t quite sure how they’d react to what he just said. In a similar vein, Dondre Whitfield — who has starred in a comedic production or two — expressed his surprise at Newton’s viral strip club comment.

“Say huh????????” said Whitfield.

It’s worth noting that some netizens were able to deduce what Newton was really trying to say in those comments:

“He literally means he didn’t go because the women were getting naked but to show his boys a good time throw some money with the fellas,” said one online user.

“Yall not understanding what he saying haha. It def came out spicy tho for sure haha,” another online user commented.

By this point, Dondre is perhaps no longer surprised every time his daughter Parker pens a sweet message for Bronny on social media.

On October 3 — the date when National Boyfriend’s Day was celebrated — the two Sierra Canyon alums were confirmed to be a couple when Parker posted a photo of herself and Bronny posing with a Mickey Mouse mascot. Bronny reciprocated the gesture by reposting Parker’s story with his own caption.

A month after they became Instagram official, the 55th overall pick of the 2024 NBA Draft once again shared a sentimental message for his girlfriend on social media:

“I miss my baby. Love u sm,” wrote Bronny.

At the time, the Los Angeles Lakers — which had both LeBron James and Bronny in their opening day roster — were at the tail end of a five-game road trip. Bronny has since been assigned to the G League, but by all indications, his relationship with Dondre Whitfield’s daughter isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon.
