The Blackhawks have a good amount of picks to find the talent they need during the 2024 NHL Draft. There’s not been a lot of discussion about what will happen with the 18th overall pick.

But there’s one winger who could help deepen the future forward core with the Blackhawks.

Could the Blackhawks use the 18th overall pick to select Dean Letourneau?

Introducing Dean Letourneau, the 2024 NHL Draft's 'Tage Thompson 2.0' - The Athletic

Undoubtedly during the NHL Combine in Buffalo, the Blackhawks did their due diligence and spoke to many prospects.

«The Canadiens ‘really teased and tested’ Dean Letourneau in the interview, the young man told me.

‘My agent said that teams do this when they like you,’ Letourneau said with a smile.

By the way, this guy is extremely nice and charismatic.» – Anthony Martineau

Letourneau like many prospects was interviewed with many NHL teams, and due to his size and Tage Thompson comparisons could draw a lot of interest during the draft.

Letourneau could end up being taken 18th overall by Kyle Davidson and the Blackhawks as the forward could be a welcome addition to a forward core that is thinner than it should be, by attrition.

The forward is 6’7″, 215 pounds, and will continue his hockey career at Boston College in the NCAA during the 2024-2025 season.

The centerman is known for his gritty play, and has scored 127 points in 56 games with U18 AAA at St. Andrews College.
