Emma Watson might have started as a child actor in the fantasy genre but ever since then, she has made a name for herself as an actor who can play versatile roles across different genres. The actress took up the role of Ila, the biblical hero Noah’s daughter, in the critically acclaimed movie Noah. While her performance was greatly applauded and held at high acclaim, the movie also featured the actress in a very passionate love scene.

“We had this one scene where we had to run at each other and fit into this perfect passionate kiss.”

Emma Watson starred alongside actor Douglas Booth, who played her love interest. While their chemistry was remarkable, their kissing scene left Watson with a bleeding lip.

“We were fine for the first four and five takes but by the sixth, we were just nutting each other. My lip was bleeding, I think I hurt Doug’s nose, we were exhausted. It was just not pretty at all.”

Despite the retakes and both the actors being injured, they continued on and performed the scene perfectly well being the professionals they are.

Emma Watson Had A Hard Time Filming Noah

The bleeding lip after a kissing scene was the least of the troubles for Emma Watson on the set of Noah. Not only did she struggle physically but even her mental health was at risk as the shoot involved many demanding challenges. Filming in freezing cold and being dehydrated most of the time since bottled water was banned from the set, Watson fell ill multiple times during the shoot.

Even when she struggled, the Little Women star was not allowed a break but was instead told to use her illness for portraying her character. While she earned extreme praise for her performance, the star locked herself in her apartment for weeks to get back on her feet after the filming was over. She also mentioned how grateful she was for her time on the sets of Harry Potter since it helped her to be better prepared for the shoot of Noah.
